DAVID SPANO APPONITED PRESIDENT OF FINANCIAL PLANNING ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN
Spano to lead Financial Planning Association of Southern Wisconsin.
MILWAUKEE, Wis. The Financial Planning Association of Southern Wisconsin’s (FPA-SW) board of directors named Dave Spano, CFP® as the new president for 2009.
Spano, who co-hosts “Money Talk” a weekly radio show on 620WTMJ, has been in the financial planning profession for more than 20 years. Prior to being elected to serve as president, he acted as the director of government relations for the FPA-SW since 2004. Through his work he has established himself as a leader in the organization. Spano is a prominent figure in the community, having served on several notable boards of directors including the Italian Community Center, The Historic Third Ward, and Miller Park Stadium Board. As the founder and president of Annex Wealth Management, LLC, Spano is a true financial planning pioneer. Annex Wealth Management brings together high-quality, client-focused professionals from the investment advisory, retirement planning, and estate planning fields to form a client service team prepared to meet the financial needs of a diverse client base.
As president of the FPA-SW, Spano will lead an organization that helps practitioners succeed as financial planners, cultivates the body of knowledge for financial planning, shares best practices, and encourages professional development. The board also appointed Sarah Ehrhardt, JD as President-Elect. Ehrhardt is an estate planning attorney with Michael Best & Friedrich.
Spano succeeds Bernie Fiedler, past president of the FPA-SW and President of Waukesha State Bank’s Wealth Management Division. Fielder’s one prerequisite before accepting the presidential role was Spano’s commitment to succeed him. “Spano’s combination of business development experience and technical expertise in financial service areas make him an ideal candidate for the presidential role,” says Fielder. “Dave’s management skills and financial acumen will be a critical component of any successes we may achieve. His commitment to the position of president next year will assure a continuation of the superior organization we wish to maintain.”
In January of 2000, the FPA launched as the new membership association for nearly 30,000 financial planners, allied professionals and organizations that advance the financial planning process. The FPA-SW is highly regarded in the community for their efforts to promote the financial planning process and accomplishments while serving as a forum for practitioners and allied professionals to discuss and discover the best practices for business development concepts.
